Discusses William of Newburgh’s account of the massacre of the Jews in York, found in his "Historia Rerum Anglicarum" (written soon after the events) and the influence of Josephus’ writings, in particular the description of the figure of Titus, on William’s portrayal of the Jews. Discusses, also, negative views on the Jews in the "Historia".
