Kurzfassung: Surveys conducted in Hungary since 1995 show that ca. 15% of Hungarians can be characterized as extreme antisemites, while ca. 12-16% - as moderate antisemites (the percentages are relatively stable). There is no reversal correlation between the level of education and intensity of antisemitic sentiments, as in the USA. Surveys conducted after 2006 show that the proportion of antisemites who embed their antisemitism in a political context has grown, which is linked with the appearance of the right-wing and antisemitic Jobbik party. The level of antisemitism varies throughout the regions, and its strength correlates with the support for Jobbik in the region. Hypothecizes that it is not the antisemitism that makes people support Jobbik, but the contrary: support of Jobbik mobilizes antisemitic attitudes. Antisemitic discourse helps to formulate a common identity for various anti-liberal groups.

Anmerkung: With English and German summaries.
