Abstract:
Discusses two forms of Jewish collaboration with the Germans during World War II: the Jewish police in the ghetto, and informers for the Gestapo who helped to arrest Jews who were living outside the ghetto. Presents a few cases of such collaborators and their activities, and reflects on the motivations of these Jews. Very few of them survived the war. The phenomenon of Jewish collaboration was marginal, but during the years 1942-43 their number grew. Their activities in the Kraków area caused the deaths of hundreds of Jews living on "Aryan" papers.
