Abstract:
Discusses the anti-Jewish laws of September-October 1938 and states that Mussolini's intention was first to segregate the Jews from the rest of the Italians, and then to force them into leaving Italy. Because Jewish emigration became impossible from 1941, the fascist government adopted an alternative plan, establishing a framework of compulsory labor in May 1942 and a system of internment and labor camps in May-June 1943. Relates to the definition of Jewish race according to the racial laws, and the restrictions to which the Jews were subjected.
