Kurzfassung:
Ephraim Fischel Joel was born in Poland in 1795. He became a Rabbi and was asked to settle in Lübeck and Moisling where he labored to serve the people. He married twice to Esther, who was a cousin and the mother of his children, and after her death to Mindel Gelaliah who helped him raise his family. His daughter Hannah married Rabbi Alexander S. Adler who continued her father's work and their daughter Esther later married Rabbi Salomon Carlebach. They had twelve children. Information on their works, the trials of the German jews during this period, and background on their descendants and where they have been scattered since World War II is given in this volume with sections in Hebrew, English, and German. Descendants now live in Germany, Israel, the United States, and elsewhere. Includes Cohn, Liebermann, Schlesinger, Stern, Wahrhaftig, and related families.
