Abstract:
In 1933, Georgi Dimitrov, a Bulgarian communist politician was arrested in Berlin for alleged complicity in setting the Reichstag on fire. His trial became known as "the Leipzig trial." He was eventually acquitted and expelled to the Soviet Union. In 1946 he returned to Bulgaria, became head of the Communist Party and subsequently Prime Minister of Bulgaria. The problems of the Jewish population relate to the Jews in Leipzig.
