Abstract:
Discusses material on the persecution of the Jews during World War II found in the Antwerp archives, as well as indications of the extent of collaboration of the authorities with the German occupiers. Describes various anti-Jewish decrees which were imposed during the occupation, and the roles played by the officials (including the police) in carrying them out. The officials also kept the lists of the Jews and their addresses updated. There are no documents relating to the deportations. Concludes that there was a direct link between the local authorities and the German occupation forces.
