Abstract:
Discusses the writings of Levi, concurring with his characterization of Auschwitz as the absolute expression of human evil and the most terrible crime in history. Nazi totalitarianism was the negation of all humanitarian assumptions and values developed through the history of ideas and philosophy in Western civilization, and that there are no logical schemes able to explain the rationale of Nazi violence.
