Abstract:
Presents the Hebrew text, with a Spanish translation, of a letter by Abner of Burgos (ca. 1270-1350) written in the vein of his anti-Jewish polemics. Based on the Midrash and the Talmud, he argued that the Messiah had already come and that he did not save the Jews, who were guilty of not recognizing the Trinity, but saved the Christians who are the Verus Israel. Includes a critique by Abner's contemporary, Yosef Shalom.
