Abstract:
Analyzes a painting found in Gavnø Castle (in Naestved), which shows a group of men discussing and pointing at two texts, in German and in Hebrew. The three men in the foreground have long noses and ugly faces. It is not known who painted this work or when. Considers that the painting is a caricature, and that the text they are pointing to, from Isaiah, may reveal a conflict between Christians and Jews in the 16th century, when the painting was presumably made.
