Abstract:
Describes the activities of a group of six Jewish women in Białystok who, after the liquidation of the ghetto, managed to communicate with anti-Nazi Germans in order to help the partisans in the surrounding forests and the Red Army to conquer the city. The women helped Jews who escaped from the ghetto to get to the forests and supplied them with food, medication, and arms. This is the only case of a group consisting only of women which managed to maintain a double identity, to act on the "Aryan side" as well as to be in contact with the partisans, and to do that with the help of Germans who opposed Nazi rule.
