Kurzfassung:
Describes the visit of a group of American journalists in April-May 1945 to the German concentration camps. During the war, the American press had barely mentioned persecution of Jews in Germany and in the occupied countries. News about the extermination of Jews was considered to be invented or exaggerated. The journalists were deeply affected by their visit and conscience-stricken for having ignored these crimes. Mentions Joseph Pulitzer's personal engagement to publish accounts of the horrors he had seen - in articles, exhibitions, and films.
