Discusses the film "The Specialist", about the Eichmann trial, as a view of the Holocaust from a new angle - here the Holocaust survivor is the torturer (of Eichmann) rather than the victim. Supports Hannah Arendt's thesis, which introduces the uniqueness of the Final Solution - a plan to deny the basic right of a people to exist. Emphasizes the visual and stylistic elements of the film, which portray Eichmann's refusal to confess to any crime. Concludes that the film's merit lies in its capacity to provide testimony of the bureaucratic nature of Nazism, to confront the politics of memory, and to alert the spectator to the dangers of the banality of evil.
