Abstract:
Discusses the elements in Tuwim's creativity which aroused the particular ire of the right-wing nationalist antisemites: his criticism of national traditions, his exaltation of physicality and sexuality, his leanings toward pantheism, and his satirical use of religious and Christian language which made him a "blasphemer". The Polish writer Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński (pen-name) was also criticized by antisemites because his mother was from a Frankist family, and therefore he was considered to be an "artificial Jew".
