Abstract:
Describes attitudes toward Jews in contemporary Poland - of laymen, priests, and upper clergy. Polish bishops generally refuse to recognize Catholic doctrine as the source of actions of Poles against Jews during World War II. Very little of the awareness of the long history of Christian denigration and defamation of Judaism and Jews, which is recognized by Catholic churchmen outside Poland, is acknowledged by Polish Church leaders, who have participated very little in the Jewish-Christian dialogue of the post-World War II period.
