Abstract:
Pero Ferrús (also Pero Ferruz, fl. 1380) was a Castilian poet who converted from Judaism to Christianity, and lived in Alcalá de Henares (now, Sant Boi de Llobregat). He wrote a poem entitled "Cantiga de Pero Ferruz para los rabíes" which is thought to have been written prior to the antisemitic riots of 1388-1391, due to the tongue-in-cheek humor present in Ferruz's complaints about his former co-religionists and the rabbis' response, which would have been impossible towards the end of the century.
