Abstract:
This article presents the Karaim agricultural festival called Orach toju. This holiday was celebrated every fall in Trakai in the Vilnius Region in 1929–1939. The author discusses its origin, name and the course of the ceremony. The following archival sources were used: reports, correspondence and photos. The festival was interrupted by the outbreak of World War II and later by the nation-alization of the Karaim fields in Trakai. Nevertheless, the secular harvest festival of Orach toju, has become part of Karaim culture
