Abstract:
Examines Luther's polemical treatises against the Jews, as well as his "Lectures on Genesis". Luther's primary charge against the Jews was their refusal to accept Jesus as the Messiah, which was a common argument at that time (and both before and afterwards). Therefore, contends that Luther's violent language must be deplored and rejected, but there are elements in his teachings which may facilitate religious pluralism.
