Abstract:
Pp. 63-67 present an English translation of a text written in Auschwitz on 3 January 1945 by Avraham Levite, which was intended to serve as an introduction to a Yiddish anthology of writings composed by Jewish prisoners in Auschwitz. It was to have been entitled "Auschwitz", and was to contain poems and descriptions of what the writers had experienced. The texts for the anthology were lost. Levite's introduction was originally published in 1946 in "YIVO Bleter", and in Hebrew translation in 1957. In 1984 it was included in the memorial book of Brzozów. Pp. 59-62 contain an introduction by Suchoff.
