Abstract:
Like other German professional sports clubs, the 1st Football Club of Nürnberg, whose team repeatedly won the German championship, hastened to exclude its Jewish members and officers in April 1933, well before the official order. Already the year before, the Jewish trainer, Jenő Konrad, felt called on to resign and flee the country after attacks in the local press and in the "Stürmer", even though the club valued his work and did its best to retain him. In publications celebrating the club's 40th anniversary in 1940, the names of Jewish officers were deleted from the list of those who had received honors for their activities in the club.
