Abstract:
The United Hebrew Trades (in Yiddish: Vereinigte Yiddishe Geverkschaften) was organized as a prospective central body of federated Jewish trade unions in October 1888 by J. Magidoff, a member of the Yiddish-language branch of the Socialist Labor Party of America. (In the 1990s, the UHT became the New York Division of the Jewish Labor Committee.)
