Abstract:
Sketches the portrait of Maurice Sachs (1906-1945), a writer close to French bohemian circles, especially to Jean Cocteau. A converted Jew, originating from Hamburg, with antisemitic leanings, Sachs fled to Germany in 1942, and became a Gestapo agent. Cocteau's wartime diary (recently published) illustrates their friendship and Sachs' perverted character, which provoked, sometimes, antisemitic remarks from Cocteau.
