Abstract:
Contends that it is untrue that President Roosevelt and American Jews abandoned the Jews of Europe during the Holocaust and "were all too passive accomplices." From 1933 on, Roosevelt was the only world leader who fully understood the evil of Hitler. Between 1933-41 he worked to facilitate German Jewish refuge in the USA, accepting twice as many Jewish refugees as the other countries of the world combined. After Germany invaded Russia in June 1941, the only hope for the Jews of Europe was the defeat of Germany. There was no conspiracy of silence about the murder of the Jews, which was well-known soon after that. Roosevelt made the defeat of Germany his highest priority and pursued that objective with supreme determination and vigor.
