Abstract:
Discusses a link between the Christian deicide accusation against the Jews and the Holocaust, contending that National Socialism, in the form of a racist salvation movement, inherited the theories and practices of Catholic antisemitism. It radicalized those theories and practices and executed both to a degree unimaginable up to that time. Presents a survey of the history of Christianity and its attitude towards the Jews, noting that the deicide accusation has persisted throughout the centuries up to the present. In Nazi Germany, the cross was replaced by the swastika; i.e. Nazism became the national religion.
