Abstract:
Quotes Frankl's words in his "Ärztliche Seelsorge", written immediately after his liberation from Dachau, that "many a one learned in the concentration camp and by means of the concentration camp to believe again in God", and suggests that Frankl was referring to himself. Frankl also said that one who had spoken to God (as a Thou) in the camp could never again talk about God (in the third person). He described his feelings when he was first able, after liberation, to walk in the open, in the words of the 118th Psalm, and wrote that one who has lived through the camps feels he can never again fear anything in the world, except God. Comments that Frankl seems hardly typical of most Holocaust survivors.
