Abstract:
Argues that, in the context of the passage discussed, the Greek word "blasphemia" means not blasphemy but denunciation to the pagan authorities. This hypothesis stems from the author's interpretation that Revelation 2,9-10 blames the Jews, whom it calls "a synagogue of Satan, " for persecution of the Christians. The thrust of this passage and similar ones in other Christian theological writings is that the Christians are the true Jews, whom the so-called Jews will be forced to acknowledge.
