Abstract:
Questions the attitude of Erich Weniger, whose philosophy of education is still influential in Germany, to Nazism and the Holocaust. He was a friend of General Heinrich von Stülpnagel and served on his staff in Paris during the war. Stülpnagel was responsible for the deportation of the Jews of France. On the other hand, in 1947 Weniger published an article in memory of a Jewish colleague, Ernst Kantorowicz, who was gassed in Auschwitz.
