Abstract:
Based on a lecture held at the School of Theology of the University of Göttingen, May 1990. Examines the attitude to Jews in the "Logia Source", one of the two presumed sources of Matthew and Luke, which itself shows signs of several phases of compilation and redaction. On the earliest level, Jesus' message was still conceived as a call to inner-Jewish reform. As Christians found themselves rejected and persecuted by the Jews, the later compilers first condemned those factions in Judaism hostile to them, and finally all Israel.
