New Testament Relation to the Bible
Abstract:
Starting from the linguistic notion of connotation, the article tries to show the fruitfulness of its methodical use for the reading of the Bible. While intertextuality is based on the proximity that texts denote to each other, connotation works at the level of reception, in the echo that the enunciation meets in the reader. Examples taken from different levels illustrate the effects produced on both the spatial and temporal levels.
