Abstract:
This paper studies the verses of the Acts of the Apostles mentioning the specific form of sharing of goods practised in the first community of Jerusalem, in order to demonstrate its complexity and its historical value. The author expands on this study by analysing the patristic texts from the first three centuries that confirm the posterity of this form of mutual support that has often been limited to a short-lived attempt that could not have survived up to the first years of Christian predication, or to a sort of apologetic idealisation.
