Abstract:
Claims that research works in Austria on the Nazi regime do not take into account the economic motivation for persecution of the Jews. Especially in Vienna, the competition with Jewish enterprises was resented by the population, who welcomed the Aryanization measures. Gives statistics, showing the extent of Jewish wealth in Austria, including the number of buildings owned by Jews. The housing shortage was solved by expelling thousands of Jewish families from their homes. The events of the "Kristallnacht" in the city were motivated largely by the urge to plunder. Quotes, from official documents, discussions between Nazi leaders about the economic results of the "Kristallnacht" pogrom.
