Abstract:
Discusses the relationship between the Jew and money. Surveying Jewish history, underlines that the Jewish nation for 2,000 years was deprived of territory and subjected to persecutions, and in money the Jews found a "fortress" and value which sometimes could protect them. The interdiction of land possession or the policy of Church authorities forbidding usury to Christians were other factors pushing Jews to trade and monetary occupations.

On the Jews in exile and money.
