Abstract:
The Jewish settlement in Cordoba predates the Islamic conquest of the Iberian peninsula. The integration of the Jewish community into the government is seen in the appearance of the figure of the Jewish courtier; and their integration into the cultural environment of al-Andalus can be initially seen in the progress made in the field of philology, poetry and legal texts, where the Andalusi intellectuals were pioneers. The havoc of the war and the economic collapse of the capital of the caliphate had repercussions for the Jewish community when the population was distributed by regions. The Jewish community of Cordoba would never recover its former prestige, although many important figures born in the city.
