Abstract:
Describes the antisemitic farcical play written by Karl Borromäus Alexander Sessa in 1812, and the failure of efforts to produce it on stage, in part due to objections by Jewish personalities of the time. Sessa died due to illness soon after the play was closed down. There were subsequent efforts, by other writers who changed the script and the play's name, to have the play performed, but they were not successful.
