Abstract:
This article examines the translations of the superscriptions in LXX Isa 1:1, 2:1, and 13:1. The analysis reveals some attempts to bring the three superscriptions into closer formal alignment, and one significant deviation that breaks this pattern. These apparently contradictory procedures seem to result from the translator’s attempt to conform with certain expectations regarding the genre of prophetic texts.
