Abstract: Memoirs of a Jew (born in Warsaw in 1907) who was interned in the Warsaw ghetto during the war but escaped in 1943 and lived on "Aryan" papers. In November 1943 he was recognized in the street, arrested, and incarcerated in the Pawiak prison. In July 1944 he was moved to the labor camp "Gęsiówka" in Warsaw. In August 1944 he was liberated by insurgents of the Warsaw uprising, and joined them in fighting. After the defeat, he lived in hiding outside of Warsaw until the liberation in January. Mentions antisemitic attitudes of some Polish fighters during the uprising. In 1967 Anlen wrote this article for the "ŻIH Bulletin" describing his experiences, but it was not published at the time because the editor had cut out the part relating to Polish antisemitism, and Anlen would not agree to publish the edited text. It is published here for the first time without any changes in the original text.
