Abstract: Examines the wartime articles in the official newspaper in order to determine the Polish government-in-exile's attitude toward Jews. Concludes that although the Jewish issue was not the most pressing one for the Poles, the newspaper "was very important in informing the West about the killing of the Jews in German-occupied Poland". Refutes the claim that this newspaper and its sponsor were part of the conspiracy of silence about the Holocaust. Notes that "Dziennik Polski" did not publish a single antisemitic article. Admits that coverage of the Holocaust might have been more complete, but emphasizes the positive role of this publication which, while focusing on Polish suffering, was an early source of much information about the Nazi genocide. The varying coverage of the fate of the Jews in Poland reflected other factors, including external and internal Polish politics.
