Abstract:
An alleged analogy between the Holocaust and the Yugoslav mistreatment of Kosovo Albanians served as justification for the NATO military action in Kosovo in 1999. Argues that the analogy is farfetched and artificial: Kosovars were not victims of genocide. The scope of the killing in Kosovo, the legal status of the Albanian minority, and the treatment of them by the authorities do not resemble the treatment of Jews and their mass murder during the Holocaust. States that the hyperinflationary use of the term "genocide" may be considered a new and more subtle form of historical revisionism.
