Abstract: Describes steps taken after the Holocaust to end the cult of worship of Andreas von Rinn as a saint and a martyr, especially by Bishop Reinhold Stecher. There is no reliable evidence for the existence of this child in the mid-15th century, nor for the murder of a three-year-old child in Rinn at the time. The steps taken aroused opposition in Rinn, in the Tyrol, and in all of Austria. The controversy ended with the declaration of the Vatican in 1989 delegitimizing the blood libel myth and the cult of Andreas von Rinn.
