    Abstract: Discusses Italian legislation concerning the racial segregation of the Jewish population beginning in September 1938, with reference to the field of education. According to the new laws, the Jews were excluded from all Italian schools, universities, and academic institutions, teachers and pupils alike. Education for Jews was allowed only in separate Jewish schools. Describes the experiences of three Jewish teachers from Reggio Emilia between 1938-45. Includes the texts of the relevant laws.
