Abstract: Analyzes Visigoth anti-Jewish legislation in Spain between 612-702, stating that the reason for the forced conversion of the Jews and the persecution of suspected Conversos lay in the Synagogue-Church conflict and the desire for religious unity in the kingdom. Recalls King Ervigio's (680-687) "Liber Judicum" (anti-Jewish legislation) and King Égica's "final solution" in 694 - the enslavement of all suspected Conversos. Wealthy Jews were always offered economic advantages in order to convert to Catholicism.
