Abstract:
Discusses the significance of the statement of the Rhineland-Westphalia Synod's 1980 document "On the Renewal of the Relationship between Christians and Jews." Underlines the importance of dialogue and the need for changes, essentially on the part of Christians, the necessity of teaching and understanding the Holocaust, and teaching the Jewish perspective of the history leading to the Holocaust. The Holocaust as turning-point means that the supposed "Jewish question" has become a Christian question.
