Abstract:
The outbreak of xenophobia during the revolutionary period in Mexico (1910) also affected the Jews. They were perceived as economic competitors and some groups called for their expulsion. For that purpose, anti-Jewish leagues were set up in the north and in Mexico City. During the 1930s, unemployment and economic crises provoked antisemitism which persisted until after the Second World War. Antisemitic leagues such as Pro Raza, Campana Nacionalista, Accion Revolucionaria Mexicanista, Los Dorados, etc. were set up. Analyzes the antisemitic campaign of 1931, focusing on anti-Jewish articles in newspapers such as "Exelsior" and "Omega".
