Abstract:
Erste umfassende deutschsprachige Darstellung jüdischen philosophischen Denkens, unter Mitarbeit von rund 80 Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern aus Europa, Israel und den USA. Ab 1933 ausgegrenzt und vergessen: das philosophische Denken des Judentums. In rund 180 Porträts von Autoren und Texten stellt das Lexikon das Spektrum jüdischen Denkens von der Antike bis zur Gegenwart vor. Jeder Beitrag schafft intellektuelle Profile und Interpretationen im Spiegel der jeweiligen theologischen und philosophischen Denkrichtung. Dadurch werden die Wechselwirkungen und der produktive Austausch zwischen Judentum und den griechischen, islamischen, christlichen und modernen europäischen Kulturen und Philosophien in den Blick gerückt. Dieses Lexikon liefert erstmals in deutscher Sprache eine umfassende Darstellung jüdischer Philosophen, dazu gehören : Maimonides, Abraham Abulafia, Mendelssohn, Freud, Herzl, Rathenau, Baeck, Arendt und Scholem.
