Abstract:
Über Jahrzehnte tabuisiert, rückt die Verfolgung homosexueller Männer in der NS-Diktatur erst in jüngster Zeit ins Blickfeld einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit. Woran es bislang mangelte, waren überregionale Untersuchungen, die einen Überblick über Alltag und Verfolgung Homosexueller im "Dritten Reich" geben. Alexander Zinn legt nun eine Studie vor, die eine neue und umfassende Sicht auf dieses dunkle Kapitel der deutschen Geschichte ermöglicht. Im Fokus stehen nicht nur das Verfolgungsprogramm der Machthaber, das sich immer weiter radikalisierte, sondern auch die Rolle von Polizei, Justiz und Bevölkerung sowie - nicht zuletzt - die der Betroffenen selbst. Mit überraschenden Ergebnissen: So klafften Anspruch und Wirklichkeit der Verfolgungspolitik oft eklatant auseinander. Denn nicht immer erwiesen sich die Behörden als die "willigen Vollstrecker", als die man sie heute meist sieht. Und auch die Bevölkerung arbeitete dem Verfolgungsapparat in weit geringerem Maße zu, als bislang oft unterstellt. Quelle: Klappentext.
