Kurzfassung:
Part of the catalogue of an exhibition on Jews in 17th-18th-century Austria. Includes items on the expulsion of Jews from Vienna in 1669; the Edict of Tolerance of Emperor Joseph II in 1782; physical and verbal attacks on Jews; restrictive legislation by Empress Maria Theresia in 1753; a Hebrew chronicle on pogroms by Austrian and Hungarian troops in Prague in 1744, which were stopped by the Prussians during their short-lived occupation of the city - leading to rumors of Jewish collaboration with the enemy; and Maria Theresia's subsequent expulsion of the Jews from Prague and all of Bohemia and Moravia. For each section there is a brief introduction, and for each major item a description of the historical context.
