Abstract: Emphasizes the political essence of anti-Zionism, which denies the Jews the right to self-determination and sovereignty under the pretext that the Jews do not constitute a people. Argues that if anti-Zionism is defined only in terms of antisemitism, its significance is depoliticized. However, the fact that Israeli politics are disproportionately and abusively criticized is an expression of antisemitism. Distinguishes between communist, Arab-Muslim, and third-world anti-Zionism, and focuses on the Arab-Muslim version. Presents a list of legal, economic, and political measures against Jews in the Muslim world since World War I. In Egypt, Iraq, Libya, and Algeria the Jews were isolated and expelled; in Tunisia, Morocco, Syria-Lebanon, Turkey, Yemen, and Iran they were excluded from society.

Abstract: Criticizes "Aladin", a project launched in 2009 by the Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah (FMS) under the patronage of UNESCO, the aegis of the UN's "Alliance of Civilizations", and in partnership with the Organisation de la Conférence Islamique. The purpose of the project is to make available in Arabic, Persian, and Turkish information about the Shoah, Judeo-Arabic relations, and Jewish culture. Argues that "Aladin" is a political and moral mistake. The FMS has put aside the dispute between the Arab-Muslim and Jewish world in order to secure the image of the Shoah in Arab-Muslim opinion, and thereby "transcendentalize" the memory of the Shoah, dissociating it from the historical and political situation of the Jews, and the survival of Israel and the Jewish people. This symbolic barter of Israel for the sacralization of the Shoah is complemented by the barter of the memory of Oriental, Sephardic Jews for Muslim acceptance. States that FMS has rewritten the history of the Sephardic Jews, denying their humiliation and suffering in the Arab countries throughout history. The Muslims are flattered at the expense of Christianity and Europe, and the desire for peace and dialogue in "Aladin" is complemented by a war within the Occidental "camp". Concludes that "Aladin" legitimizes political resentment of Israel, deepens paternalistic Ashkenazi disdain for the Sephardi world, and, in depoliticizing the Arab-Jewish conflict for the benefit of the memory of the Shoah, relegates Jewish existence to an antiquated past. Warns that this depoliticization has political consequences.

Abstract: Studies how the symbolism of the Jew has been utilized and gradually turned against the Jews in France since the 1980s. Traces the dissociation of the word "Jew" from flesh and blood Jews back to Paul, who substituted the Jews with Christians. In the late 1980s, following Francois Mitterand's revival of the "anti-fascist front" in the struggle against Le Pen, the anti-racist organization SOS-Racisme began to equate Jews with immigrants, and gradually all the Jewish symbols were confiscated for the immigrant cause. Thus began the "perverse logic", by which the Jews were excluded from their own history and then from general history. In the 1990s "human-rightism" began to stigmatize the uniqueness of the Shoah and the Jewish community's identification with it. The fight against antisemitism was extended to protect the immigrants against anti-Arab racism. By the end of the 20th century, the relationship between the symbolism of the Jew and that of the Arab-Muslim had been reversed in favor of the latter; everything related to the Jews or Judaism had to be linked to Islam or Muslim immigrants in order to receive confirmation. Since 2000 the French Arab-Muslim community has become a political actor, skillfully applying the Jewish symbol to itself. The cause of the suffering Palestinians (the "new Jews") has become its rallying point, but the steady decline of the Jewish symbol is making it increasingly redundant. The period following the Gaza war in 2008-09 is characterized by the exclusion of the Jewish symbol. Warns that this unconscious and unprogrammed development may lead to delegitimization of the existing Jewish community.
