Abstract:
Presents letters written by Betty Durczyn (nee Hurwitz), daughter of Russian-Jewish immigrants. After graduating from school in Copenhagen in 1918 she emigrated to Germany, where she became a language teacher and married Abram Durczyn. The couple had a son. Presents letters written by Betty from Berlin to her former classmates in Denmark between 1938-42. Her husband was expelled to Poland in 1938. In 1940 Betty and her son joined her husband in Warsaw. The family was interned in the Warsaw ghetto and deported to Treblinka in 1942, where they perished.
