Kurzfassung:
An interview with the 68-year-old Hungarian sculptor Imre Varga, who confesses his guilt feelings for having been passive during the Holocaust and not helping the Jews. Since 1956 the aim of his art is to compensate Hungarian Jewry for his neglect. His sculptures reflect his preoccupation with the subject: Babi Yar, a portrait of the Jewish poet Miklós Radnóti who died in the Holocaust, a sculpture of Raoul Wallenberg, and the Memorial to the Hungarian Jewish Martyrs placed next to the Great Synagogue in Budapest.
Anmerkung:
On the Hungarian sculptor's lack of action during the war and his later art works commemorating the Holocaust.
