Abstract:
The book deals with one of the most interesting biblical exegeses of Gersonides (Provence, 1288-1344): the interpretation of the stories of the creation of man and the Garden of Eden. It explains their philosophical meaning; the methods used in them; their dependence on Averroes's commentaries on Aristotle and their relationships with Gersonides' other writings, especially his commentary on Song of Songs and the Wars of the Lord
